The project's mission is to improve the health of infants in Washington Heights and Harlem. The initiative uses a novel approach--molecular epidemiology--to flag environmental hazards and trigger interventions. It is based on a new paradigm that links community-based health research directly to preventive action within the community. The results will be generalizable to other populations. |
