On Thursday, April 19, 2007, WE ACT will be hosting its annual fundraising event at the International House to celebrate Earth Day and present the WE ACT for Environmental Justice Award to individuals who have made significant contributions to improving environmental health and developing sustainable practices and communities. The celebration will begin at 6:30 p.m., include light food and a short program, and end at 9:30 p.m.

This year we will be honoring:

  • NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg
  • Mr. Evan Blum, The Demolition Depot
  • Ms. Delfina Cruz, East Harlem Asthma Working Group
  • Council Member James Gennaro, NYC Council
  • Dr. Patrick Kinney, Columbia University
  • Sister Susanne Lachapelle, Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service
  • NYS Senator Bill Perkins
  • Ms. Swati Prakash, The Pacific Institute
  • Speaker Christine Quinn, NYC Council
